This is an electronic dendrometer suitable for forest inventories for the determination of : the Basal Area Factor (BAF), borderline trees, stem diameters at any heights, inclination measurements and tree heights.
The RD1000 has an in-scope LED-bar-scale which is projected into the sighting optics. For the determination of the stem diameter this LED-bar-scale is lined up the stem diameter similar to a caliper by means of a trigger button . The diameter and the height are calculated depending on the horizontal distance and are digitally displayed in the sighting optics. The distance can either be entered via keyboard or directly read via an on-line connected laser distance meter (LADIS or LD 1000).
Measuring ranges: BAF 1 to 127 ft2/Acre (0,2 to 39,0 m2/Hectare), diameter of tree stem 5-254 cm, inclination +/-90°, accuracy: diameter 6 mm up to a distance of 24 m under normal field conditions.
